America's Great Passtime, if you will!
Since living in St. Louis I've gained an appreciation for baseball...that doesn't have anything to do with the fact that I live in the home of the greatest team to ever play the game...HA! Of course it does, I'm speaking of the Cards, (St. Louis Cardinals for all you Braves fans). There is nothing I love more than going to get a hot dog & beer, (no brats for me, don't like rich food) and heading to the ball park to support my people...Scotty Rolen, Edmonds, Pujols, Eckstein...all the gang. Yes, they are my people.
They are to some what Sammie, Austen, Bo, & Hope are to others, (yes, I'm speaking of those that live in Salem)...they fill us with emotions of excitement, sadness (a lot this season), anger, betrayel, and hope.
Yes, America's favorite passtime is not baseball, nor soap operas...it's searching for a connection in the heart which is somehow met for the time-being through the ultimate in counterfit feelings...escapism!!!
Ya! I love it I must confess. Do I really care if the Cards will keep up their winning in post-season? Well...OK, I do...howev, it goes deeper than that. See, I have officially signed up for too much this semester, leaving me little to no time with others, which is not the way it's suppose to be. The Lord created us with a need for relationship, as I have spoken of in earlier blogs, and I don't have time for that...therefore, my needs will be met through keeping up with the Cards in the internet world and it will suffice for the time being. Howev, it's connection with the Lord through prayer and relationship with His people that ultimately fulfill my longings. Until then, GO CARDS!!!

baseball bores me. basketball is way superior: more points, more action, more sweat. but i must admit that there is something comforting about the voice of joe buck--equally as soathing as his father's--in the summertime, while birds sing, lawnmowers cut, men drink, women sing songs about their men drinking, children scream, bees sting, viruses kill...you get the point.

Uuu...sugar bun sugar...I just don't see how baseball could be a bore, but alas, we all have our opinions. There was nothing boring about last night's game...ya! We're in for the next round!
