Eckstein Gone...Really?

What is going on in the world of Cardinals Baseball? First Jimmy gets the 'Family Fued X', now David Eckstein? I can't believe we are saying goodbye to the 2006 MVP. The small but scrappy player was a favorite among St. Louisans. He played shortstop and stole bases like nobody! Just this past season Eckstein batted .309, which is very good, had 31 RBIs and stole 10 bases.

Eckstein claims that he and his agent were in talks with the baseball club about a contract, but wanted to put things on hold during the season. The Cardinals claim that they had made him an offer, to which they received no response from Eckstein or his people. Who knows what really happened? Although after watching an interview with David himself on Tuesday night, it sure sounds like they're kicking him to the curb. Bummer...he was one of my faves.

Thank you David Eckstein! You'll be missed...hope you like playing baseball in the snow. You do, eh? Good for you, not for us.

No. No. No. No! He is so great! Guaranteed to get on base every time! Hopefully he'll get picked up by a team that'll appreciate him.
